HOW ELECTRIC TRAIN WORKS IN SINGLE WIRE ??ππ
How electric train works in single wire ?
Usually the home appliances like TV, Refrigerator, washing machine, grinders work either in two or three pins but the unusual thing happening here is that, the electric trains that we usually travel in and the tester that we usually use works only in one wire i.e. like a single pin . Curious right??
Before seeing about single pin let me brief you about the two pin working.
Consider a TV connected in two pin socket. Here, the right side pin is the phase line and the left side is known as the neutral line. Current always enters through the phase line gives power to the appliances and passes out through the neutral line. This is technically called a closed circuit. Here, if the neutral wire is disconnected the appliances will not work. Therefore the tester will work only hen kept on phase line.
Have you ever wondered where is the neutral line for the tester?
Here is an answer for it.
The tester have a 10 lakh ohm resistor(a devise which restricts the current flow), Due to this only a very minute amount of current passes through the tester, when we place our hand behind the tester the small amount of current passes through our hand using us as a neutral line.
Similarly,
In the electric train the the wire hanging above the train acts as a phase line and carries 25000 volts of electricity. The transformer inside the train regulates this electricity to the required amount and then passes it to the train track in which the train moves. Thus the track acts as a neutral line.
